O Central is mixed-use scheme that revitalises a brownfield site in Crampton Street, South London, to provide 240 new homes and new work space, grouped around a courtyard.
Our director Julie Greer, convinced of the architectural integrity, led on design negotiations, townscape and public realm assessment, and planning conditions.
The high quality design overcame local objections and the majority of stakeholders subsequently endorsed the scheme.
The project's affordable housing creates an urban boulevard with the four-storey housing of the Pullens Conservation Area, which is immediately adjacent. The development forms a successful transition in scale between the conservation area, Elephant & Castle and Crampton Street.
Julie was also closely involved with value engineering discussions, which safegaurded design quality without lessening the value of the building.
